Everyone knows the classic dreadnought shape -- it's the standard face in the acoustic guitar industry. For the DCPA4 Rosewood Performing Artist model, Martin takes it up a notch with a pickup/preamp system that takes an already astounding sound and amplifies it with a pristine signal. Your non-invasive and discreetly placed pickup/preamp system includes an onboard tuner, volume, and tone controls to help you shape your tone. You'll be able to switch seamlessly between acoustic and acoustic-electric with ease and effortlessness.
The Tonal Power of Spruce and Rosewood
Guitarists know how important tonewoods are to a guitar's sound -- that's why Martin went with a spruce/rosewood combo for your DCPA4's body. Solid spruce has a high stiffness-to-weight ratio and yields a bright and crisp tone. Rosewood keeps your sound punchy, featuring brighter tones while keeping your resonance nice and heavy. The end result is a pleasant collection of body with enough brightness that doesn't sound too tinny or trebly. Crafted from mahogany and other select hardwoods, the DCPA4's neck harnesses close and comfortable action over a 20-fretted black Richlite fingerboard.
